ESCALA: scale-ruler fountain pen

Dear Backers,

We are very happy to report that mass production for ESCALA will soon commence. We have decided to offer three versions of the pen. In the Backerkit survey, which will be sent out tomorrow, you will need to select your desired option and also choose your nib size. In addition, you can order additional pens and nibs. Nibs are interchangeable so if you would like to try different line-weights you can easily swap nibs.

These are the three scales engraving offered:

For the two new versions (metric only, imperial only), we carefully selected the most common scales used in each system. For the metric only version, you can easily multiply by 10 to double the amount of scales. 

It is important to complete the survey by Tuesday, April 2 as we need to know the exact numbers for each pen and nib sizes. Any delay in answering the survey will delay the project completion.

Dear Backers,

Some backers have suggested to have 3 different pens. One graded exclusively for the metric system, one graded exclusively for the imperial system and one for a combination of both as we had in the campaign.

We want to know your opinion. If you are a metric user would you be interested in having the imperial scales in the same pen and viceversa or you are just interested in a specific system?

We will definitely make able the one we have in the campaign and we are just debating if we offer the other two. During the survey you will be able to select which one you want and you will also be able to order additional pens in any system if desired. PleaSe comment below.

Dear Backers,

We would like to thank you for supporting this idea. We are thrilled with the results of the campaign and are excited to start working on it. Kickstarter needs two weeks to process all pledges and contact any backers with an expired credit card or with any other issues. Once we receive the final count from Kickstarter we will send you a Backerkit survey via email where you will be able to select your desired nib size, purchase additional pens or nibs, and confirm your mailing address. As soon as we have all this information we will order the nibs and start mass producing the pen. We don’t expect any delays but if something comes up we will let you know in another update.
